Birmingham will host the upcoming IATEFL 50th conference. As a newcomer to IATEFL (second year), I am very excited about this special anniversary event, meeting my colleagues and friends from around the world, and speaking at the PCE.
YLTSIG 30 Years
This year will also be 30 years for the YLTSIG.
I am a member of Young Learner and Teenager Special Interest Group (YLTSIG). My role on the committee is to coordinate the monthly webinars and the website. I’m currently working hard to get the new website ready for launch before April, 2016.
Pre Conference Events
The pre-conference events (PCEs) will be held on Tuesday 12 April. These events are run by the special interest groups. The events focus on professional development in English language teaching and learning.

Let’s Meet at the PCE
I have been honored with an invitation to present at the IATEFL YLT and LT SIGs joint event on April 12, 2016. I will be focusing on my experiences with implementing technology in EFL high school classes. The journey that began in 1993 in a computer lab, has provided my students and I with opportunities and challenges. I will discuss the challenges and opportunities involved in including personal devices in the classroom.
