Videos to Document Discovery Learning

Learning by Teaching is not a new idea, but teaching as a way to learn by documenting the process of discovery with videos is.

I started the technique of documenting discovery learning by creating videos with with my high school students in 2004. The students were asked to capture what they discovered by converting their PowerPoint presentations into videos and uploading them to then BlipTV and later on to YouTube.

The technique of documenting discovery learning through videos is suitable for learners of all ages. The method requires learners to explore and learn as they create video tutorials. Peers in and out of the classroom are able to watch, learn, reflect, and provide feedback.

Videos to Document Discovery Learning (V2DDL) has become a household name in all of my Moodle teacher and admin online training courses for the past 7 years.
